The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Dr. Patrice Motsepe has disclosed that about two billion people across the globe watch the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire.
Motsepe made this known during a press conference on Friday ahead of the remaining games of the tournament.
“We have had close to 2 Billion people watching AFCON globally. We should be proud as Africans and the next one will be even better,” he was quoted as saying by CAF Media.
South Africa will slug it out with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) for the third-place game at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium on Saturday by 9pm.
Similarly, Jose Peseiro’s Super Eagles of Nigeria and host nation, Cote d’Ivoire will clash in the final of the competition at Alassane Ouattara Stadium, Abidjan on Sunday by 9pm.
